Your Fixed Braces Journey

Step One: Consultation and Planning

We need to understand how the position of your teeth is affecting the appearance and health of your smile. To get to know your orthodontic needs, we’ll begin with a complete assessment,incl uding digital scans and X-rays. This helps us plan the mosty effective treatment for you.

Your consultation is also an opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have. We canoutl ine what you can expect from your treatment journey, how long you’ll need to wear braces, and how you can get the best from the process.

Step Two:
Fitting Your Braces

Once we’ve planned your treatment, we can invite you in to fit your brace. During this appointment, we’ll carefully bond the brackets your teeth before threading the archwire through.

When your brace is in position, we’ll make any necessary adjustments to ensure it’s comfortable.

Step Three: Regular Adjustments

You’ll visit us every few weeks for adjustments to gradually shift your teeth into the desiredposit ion. Each appointment brings you closer to your perfect smile. Every smile is unique, so the duration of your treatment will depend on the position of your teeth before the process starts. Mild adjustments may take as few as six months, while more complex treatments can take up to two or more years.

Step Four: The Big Reveal

Once your teeth have reached their perfect positions, we’ll remove your brace, and you can see what you’ve been working toward all this time. But we don’t want your hard work to go to waste. Your teeth may take some time to settle into their new positions. We’ll give you a removable retainer to wear to prevent them from sliding back.

Caring for Your

Fixed braces provide predictably effective results, but food debris and plaque can build up around the brackets and wires without proper brushing during treatment. We’ll provide tips on brushing and flossing effectively around your braces and recommend dietary adjustments to protect your brackets and wires.
